SUNNYCREST FARM FOR BOYS 

ONE-HOUR TV SERIES DRAMA - 1960's  

Story Development TV Series by Suzanne E. Gillis & Micheal Jackson

Based on True Story in the early 1960's in Lancaster, PA a 12-year-old boy is recruited by a Quaker Woman who runs a special agricultural farm program located in Lancaster County PA. The Sunnycrest Farm for Negro Boys was founded by a group of Quakers in the 1800s in an effort to take inner city negro boys out of the projects in North Philadelphia and place them in a protected environment where they learn how to grow their own food,  maintain the farm and experience nature.  Most of the boys are orphans and after a three-year period, are either placed with permanent homes or sent back to the inner cities.  Micheal Jackson, the boy who this story is based on, now runs a similar program in North Philadelphia for inner city boys who are 'at risk' and who are currently being educated in farm life and agriculture after school.

A wealthy Boston girl develops a severe weight problem after losing her mother at a young age.  Years later, her father hires a young male co-worker with her with the specific goal of pay 'romantic attention' to her in an effort to get her motivated enough to lose weight.  The plan works until the man falls in love with his bosses daughter and insists on telling her the 'truth' about why he was hired by her father.

A young Pakistani couple falls in love during college and plans to marry and have a future together in the clothing business in London.  Soon after graduation, the man's father dies which forces him to return to Pakistan where his father own has a clothing manufacturing business.  As the man tries to stay in touch with his 'fiance', the girl's mother deliberately interferes fearing he will take her daughter away from London.  Eventually, the man to marry another woman and returns to London years later, divorced, only to tell the girl that it was her mother who prevented his

return and their marriage.
